Do you confuse dissemination with communication in Horizon Europe? Although they go hand in hand, they have completely different audiences, channels, and objectives. In this article, we explain the practical differences using the real success story of the European Heat-to-Fuel (HtF) project, where R2M Solution coordinated the impact strategy to bring laboratory science to the market.

As flexibility markets evolve and consumer participation becomes increasingly important, a fundamental question arises: How are these solutions validated under real-world conditions? MELIXA’s pilot projects allow the platform to be tested in real-world environments, demonstrating how different energy resources can provide flexibility to the electric system and contribute to a more efficient and resilient grid.

Aggregation platforms enable the coordination of energy communities, batteries, and flexible consumption to help balance the power grid. In this article, we explore how MELIXA aims to bring this flexibility to real-world projects.

In a context of geopolitical instability and volatile electricity prices, self-consumption has skyrocketed by 3,200% in Spain over the last decade. However, installing panels is not enough if users do not understand how their energy flows. At R2M Solution Spain, we transform monitoring from a simple data visualization into a true educational tool that gives control back to the citizens.

Buildings already feature advanced technology, but they still fail to exploit their full energy potential. The problem is not a lack of solutions, but rather a lack of coordination between systems. The Building Optimizer integrates everything into a single intelligence capable of optimizing the building globally.

In energy communities, household electricity consumption does not always coincide with periods of peak renewable production. The Demand Response Electric Optimizer, developed by R2M’s R&D+i department, proposes an innovative solution to align both factors. Through predictions of photovoltaic production, energy demand, and user availability, the tool suggests when to perform domestic activities—such as running the washing machine or dishwasher—thereby improving the utilization of local energy and fostering more participatory energy management.

In this article, we present the Thermal Production Units Optimizer, a solution developed by R2M’s R&D+i department aimed at maximizing the efficiency of heat pumps, cascade systems, and thermal storage. Through advanced optimization strategies, the tool reduces electricity consumption, improves the utilization of available renewable energy, and operates equipment under its most efficient conditions, both in existing buildings and from the design phase of new installations.

From R2M Solution Spain, the R&D+i department works continuously on the development of new solutions that can reach the market and generate a real impact on the energy transition. Our goal is to go beyond research, translating knowledge into products that bring tangible value to buildings, users, and the electrical system.
